Why you should rent a car while traveling through Romania
Traveling Romania’s beautiful sightseeing spots and enjoying the landscapes and the scenery should be on everybody’s bucket list. With a population of about 19 million people and a square area of 238,397 square kilometers, Romania is one of the medium-sized countries in Europe.
The different forms of relief provide for you the means of a full-option vacation - trek the mountainside, explore the hills of Transylvania and enjoy your summer at the Romanian seaside - all within the span of maximum a week.
In today’s article, we’ll talk about the different reasons for renting a car while traveling through Romania. Curious? Let’s see!
1. You get to enjoy the scenery
The scenery of Romania is breathtaking. Places like the Apuseni Mountains, the Red Lake from Bicaz, Turda’s Salt Mine or Romania’s Stonehenge - Sarmizegetusa Regia - are just a few of the exquisite places which can be seen throughout Romania’s vast and beautiful attractions.
Oh, we almost forgot about one spot where nature thrives and royals before everything - the Danube Delta. This spot is formed by Danube’s flowing into the Black Sea - and it’s an important UNESCO-protected natural reservation from Europe. Make sure you stay here at least two days - you’ll have to enjoy everything the Delta has to offer!
2. Easy to get from point A to point B
As you already saw, the breathtaking scenery fills Romania - but how do you see everything? Well, transportation is not that great in Romania - trains are slow and known to be late. Airplanes are pretty expensive and not so common between important cities.
That’s why you should rent a car. Renting a car in Romania will help you see everything this beautiful country has to offer without any stress - just hop in your VIA rented car and enjoy the next stop in your beautiful trip.
3. Enjoy the Carpathians
We won’t spoil your trip there, but we have to mention these beautiful mountains - the Romanian Carpathians. You have to visit them, in order to really understand how beautiful Romania’s mountainside is.
You can choose the harder peaks like Moldoveanu or Omu, but if you need a slow, easy trekk, you can go for Ceahlau Mountain or any peak from the Apuseni - those are not that hard, but still require the adequate equipment, so be careful.
4. Get a glimpse of the Romanian Seaside
The Black Sea may not be the Mediterranean, but it still has lots to offer. Romania’s seaside is renowned for its long beaches and great nightlife, so if you’re an amateur for that kind of fun, you shouldn’t miss it for the world!
We recommend going to Mamaia if you want standard clubs, but if you’re more of a hipster, Vama Veche is the place for you! Or, if you rent a car - check out both places - you’ll like them.
5. Travel through Transylvania - the most renowned area of Romania
Transylvania is widely known because of Dracula’s story, and that is…too bad. Of course, Dracula’s story is important for the region, but Transylvania has so much more to offer. Being a region with multiple ethnicities, you see the cultural melting pot in full display.
