Age requirements and required documents

• The client must hold a national or international driving license, valid for at least 1 year and present the Identity Document or Passport issued in his name and within the validity period.
• To rent and drive a car under standard conditions, the minimum mandatory age is 25 years and maximum 65 years. Also, both the main driver and additional drivers must hold a valid driving license, with a minimum age of 12 months.
• Clients and additional drivers whose age is between 21 and 24 years can rent a car subject to paying a "Young Driver" fee of 4 euros/per day and maximum 40 euros per rental.

Minimum rental period and mileage limits
 

• The minimum car rental period is 1 day with a limit of 50 km/day.
• For 2-day rental periods the mileage limit is 125 km/rental.
• For 3-day rental periods the mileage limit is 350 km/rental, for rental periods between 4 - 14 days the mileage limit is 2,500 km/rental and for rental periods between 15 - 30 days the mileage limit is 3,000 km/rental. These limits can be exceeded but there will be an additional fee of 0.1 euro + VAT for each km exceeded.

Territoriality - travel with the rented car
Leaving the territory of Romania with cars rented from VIA Rent A Car is strictly prohibited.

Payment, guarantee or additional insurance

• The prices shown include: RCA, Rovinieta, VAT.
• The deposit/guarantee can be blocked on the CARD or can be deposited in CASH.
• A reservation can only be paid for online by card if there are at least 24 hours left until the car is picked up.
• Most debit cards are accepted for payment (except American Express).
• You can opt to purchase extended guarantees for: windshield, tires, bodywork, upholstery or Standard Insurance or Plus Insurance.

Other provisions

• Rental cars are delivered washed and fully fueled and are returned fully fueled and washed.
• Fines for inappropriate behavior in traffic are the responsibility of the driver (VIA Rent A Car client).
• Any change you wish to make to the valid car rental contract (extension of the period, advance return) must be communicated in advance to the VIA Rent A Car team.
